He is survived by his wife, 4 children, Jeff (Tammy) of Sturgeon Bay; James (Anne) of Sturgeon Bay; Jill Jacobson of St. Louis, MO; and Judy (Roger) LaViolette of Forestville; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck (Ginny) Harmon, of Springfield, IL; and sister, Joy Campbell of Green Bay. Bert was a person of deep faith and helped so many people by being supportive, encouraging and very forgiving, with an open mind and inner strength that was unmatched. Due to his innate ability to think outside the box, Bill was hired by the Leo Burnett Company in Chicago as the youngest client service executive overseeing successful campaigns with Schlitz Beer and Kentucky Fried Chicken, to name a few. June was preceded in death by her daughter Betz Reynen. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Donald; three children, Glenn (Julie) Hinnenthal of Jacksonport, Carolyn Hinnenthal of Sturgeon Bay, Jane (Don) Meger of Ham Lake, MN; seven grandchildren; Jennifer (Bryan) Hass, Geoffrey Hinnenthal, Michael (Nicole) Hinnenthal, Jakob (Rose) Pflederer, Ethan Pflederer, Gunnar (Stacy) Meger, Erica Meger; and nine great-grandchildren; as well as brother-in-law Thomas (Ann) Hinnenthal and sister-in-law Susan (T.J.) Jorgensen; several nieces and nephews, including niece Jannie (Casper) Gubi; their children Ulrikke and Sebastian of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her teaching career began in the one room rural school system - when consolidation occurred continued in the public school system in Algoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Jerrold. He knew every road in Wisconsin and was a specialist at making a 4-hour ride take a full day with side roads, coffee stops and visits with friendly strangers. Mary Ann especially liked the color red and polka dots. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan & LuLu Belle Peterson and sister, Harla Watson. We thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts. Growing up, he was one of the guys Id see from time-to-time on the weekends, pitching in to help my dad with whatever fix-it or build-it project he had going on at the time. Bill graduated Cum Laude from Missouri Valley College in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. He is survived by : his children, Spouses, Florence (Zac Matthiessen), April (Isaac Spitz), Harlan (Marsha Peterson) and Brenda Peterson; his grandchildren, Sven Matthiessen, Kal Matthiessen, Mila Matthiessen, Lucy Matthiessen, Jace Peterson and Jade Peterson (Betty Peterson); and his brother-in-law Gaynor Watson Many. She dedicated innumerable hours to researching and preserving island history and loved sharing her knowledge with island visitors. BORN: JUNE 24, 1968 PASSED: JULY 7, 2021 Michael Lee Peterson was born in DeLand, Florida. Following high school, he served in the United States Navy. Special Thank You to Msgr.
